High Uintas - Ostler Peak / Amethyst Basin

We try to do a High Uintas backpack in that magic window (usually mid to late June) where the snow is not too crazy, and the mosquitoes (evil!) have not taken over the entire range. This year we decided on Amethyst Basin, an area we'd seen from above but not visited first-hand. We hit a bunch of lakes (caught my first tiger trout - a beauty), climbed 12er Ostler Peak (one rocky mother) and I even tried fishing from my packraft. So cool. It was kinda windy, but Amethyst Basin delivered the goods. Beautiful!
