Hayden Peak

Hayden Peak is the awesome, dramatic-looking peak you see above Mirror Lake when you first cross Bald Mountain Pass and start descending on the Mirror Lake Hightway in the High Uinta Mountains. I've had it on my list forever and the opportunity presented itself on a perfect late August Saturday, so I decided to drive up and knock it out. Most Uinta Peaks take miles and miles of backpacking, and are not very rugged in appearance. Hayden, on the other hand, is quite rugged, and only a couple miles from the road. It's still a pretty good challenge, however, with some borderline class 5 moves to get to the summit.
