Big Bend National Park

There were a couple national parks in the Southwest Texas area that I wanted to hit. My friend Marilee lived in relatively nearby Lubbock and she agreed to drive down and meet me in Midland, and then eventually on to Big Bend National Park. We did some scenic drives, a nice hike into Santa Elena Canyon, an deep and abrupt canyon of the Rio Grande along the U.S./Mexican border, a fun packraft back out of the canyon (I touched the canyon wall on the Mexican side - shhh!), and finally a nice hike down to The Window from the Chisos Basin which is surrounded by the nearby Chisos Mountains.
