Grand Canyon National Park

The North Rim is basically snowed out this time of year, so the South Rim it was. We rented bikes and rode west along the rim road out to a place called Hermit's Rest, which gave us many really nice and slightly different views of the canyon...including a few views of the Colorado River. They close the road beginning in March, so it was a nice relaxed way to check out many of the viewpoints. We stayed at a place right on the rim called the Thunderbird Lodge. The next morning we hiked a ways down the Bright Angel Trail. April is a great month to visit the South Rim...the temps were perfect.
