The Obelisk

It was another beautiful May Saturday, and as I was going to go solo I wanted something not super crazy, but still took advantage of the lingering snow...plus I'd been craving something near the Alpine Ridge. I remembered doing a cool subpeak of the Pfeifferhorn called The Obelisk back in 2010. It fit the bill nicely so I got a nice early start (6am) and basically had the entire area, Maybird Gulch, to myself for the entire morning. So awesome! I climbed up the SW ridge which got kind of scary steep right at the end, but then swiss bobbed down the same little gully Mike and I did back in 2010.
