Revisiting Parunuweap Canyon has been on my radar since way back in 2006 when I first saw it after doing Fat Man's Misery Canyon. Dave invited Mikey and I to do a spring desert backpack through "The Barracks" area and so I jumped at the opportunity. It starts near Mount Carmel Junction and is shallow at first, although still pretty, but then narrows up over the course of 20 miles or so to eventually become every bit as deep and dramatic as its sister canyon, the more famous Zion Narrows. This route had many spectacular side canyons as well, Poverty Wash (dumb name) was especially a standout. Awesome trip!
