Rocky Mountain National Park - Emerald Lake

Alisa, the girls, and I decided to slip in an end-of-summer Colorado road trip before school started. One place I wanted to make sure to visit, since I hadn't been in a long time, was Rocky Mountain National Park. Things certainly have changed from a visitation standpoint (had to have a timed entry permit, etc.) but the park was as amazingly beautiful as I remembered. We drove the Trail Ridge Road (super high elevation, amazing views) and scored a parking spot at the Bear Lake TH and hiked up to a handful of beautiful lakes, ending at a cirque and Emerald Lake.
