Kalalau Trail / Hanakapi'ai Falls

The third (and to a waterfall, surprise) hike on the Kauai trip was the famous Kalalau trail along the Napali coast. I'd done this very route once before way back in 2002 and wanted to do the remaining 9 miles of the trail...but was unable to secure a camping permit, which is required to go past the first 2 miles. Next time! But the consolation prize was nothing to sneeze at, namely Hanakapi'ai Falls, a couple miles inland from the coast, and easily the most spectacular waterfall of the trip. I got to enjoy it in full daylight, this time, and take my time swimming at its base. Amazing!
