Guadalupe Peak

I'd been to Guadalupe Mountains NP once before, back in 2016, with the goal of hitting Guadalupe Peak, which is also Texas's state high point. But the rangers told me that I would encounter 85 mph winds at the summit and advised against it, and I complied. It's been a burr under my saddle for nearly a decade, so once they created nearby White Sands NP it was a no-brainer to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. I'm happy to report that the weather was perfect this day and Guadalupe Peak went down. Very enjoyable hike, nice views, and the backside of El Capitan was unexpectedly cool.
