Week 8 of 13 | Contest 4
|
Photo Info: |
This photo of Michelle, courtesy of Meghan, was taken just last week whilst we were snowshoeing in the Tetons. There is just something Mona Lisa-esque about that smile... |

Michelle: hey, lane... does the wilderness make my butt look big? Lane: yeah... the wilderness...

Lane says "Not really, vision makes your butt look big."
(Michael - Feb 27, 2006 09:25:24 AM)
|
Actually what I said was "The size of your butt makes it appear large."
(Lane - Feb 27, 2006 01:25:32 PM)
|
No boys, it’s all in the direction of the strips.
(William - Feb 27, 2006 09:04:49 PM)
|
Remind me, Lane--was that before or after you said my ankles were "wider than expected"?
(Michelle - Feb 28, 2006 12:07:00 AM)
|
It was right after...but under my breath. I'm all about tact. :)
(Lane - Feb 28, 2006 02:52:48 PM)
|
Way to be sensitive Lane.
(Michael - Feb 28, 2006 03:12:40 PM)
|
wow, this one's a shocker for me. I wrote this in the middle of an archaeology class.
(Brian - Mar 3, 2006 10:20:01 AM)

michelle: "i'll turn a little to the right so you can get my GOOD side." meghan (the photographer): keep turning, keep turning, keep turning...
»

meghan only said that because she wanted to see my butt (which is quite lovely).
(Michelle - Feb 28, 2006 12:49:21 PM)
|
it's too bad that's not the photo this week.
(Michael - Feb 28, 2006 01:47:57 PM)

I'd buy that for a dollar! :D
(Anonymous - Feb 28, 2006 01:51:15 PM)

So this is Dave's first week. Not a bad showing.

On her first Nova documentary, after following Lane for hundreds of miles in snowshoes, up and down the steep slopes of the Tetons, braving cold, hunger and almost certain death, Michelle finally heard the world's most rare mating call -- Lane: "Fine, we can call this a date." -- Michelle smiles.

Bonus points for making it a "Nova" documentary (one of my favorite shows...). :)

As the Yeti began to tear off her husband's limbs, she couldn't help but smile at the poetic justice. After all, it was HIS idea to go on this "stupid snowshoeing adventure".

so is this photo taken before show showed the tetons or after?
(Michael - Feb 28, 2006 03:27:25 PM)
|
this is not doing NEARLY as well as it should. maybe if everybody knew what "tetons" meant.
(Brian - Mar 1, 2006 10:04:56 AM)
|
Beavis, I have seen the top of the mountain. And it is good.
(Lane - Mar 1, 2006 10:46:44 AM)
|
LMAO!
(Casey - Mar 1, 2006 11:46:48 AM)
|
"Top of the mountain"? Would you say more like Mauna Loa or Mauna Kea?
(William - Mar 1, 2006 03:04:26 PM)
|
Of course all of these comments are left by boys! What is it about tetons?
(Julie H - Mar 1, 2006 03:10:46 PM)
|
*sigh* "Teton", Julie, is the french word for "breast" So, the "Grand Tetons" translates to the "Large Breasts" making them the popular vacation spot that they are. As for why the boys are so interested in these mountains, you may have to take that one up with the man upstairs. As to why the often insensitive jokes, I'd alternatively refer you to the man downstairs. :-)
(Ryan - Mar 1, 2006 03:17:06 PM)
|
...Or I can try to give you ANOTHER lesson in boys.
(William - Mar 1, 2006 03:20:11 PM)
|
LOL...awesome explanation Ryan!!
(Mike K - Mar 1, 2006 03:42:23 PM)
|
Will somebody tell me what Michael means by "show showed"?
(Nate - Mar 1, 2006 08:04:47 PM)
|
Yeah thanks Nate for pointing out my mistyping/spelling. there isn't an edit button on the comments. It should say "So is this photo taken before she showed the tetons or after?"
(Michael - Mar 1, 2006 09:00:33 PM)
|
Ryan...i do know that grand tetons are "big breasts" I did drive with Lane all the way up to Driggs...but still the fascination is perplexing
(Julie H - Mar 2, 2006 08:15:36 AM)
|
Why does the male Jewel Beetle try to mate with a big, shiny beer bottle? It's not perplexing...it's simple hardwired biology. :)
(Lane - Mar 2, 2006 10:14:41 AM)
|
indeed. you are just not a very understanding person are you julie? We're not perverts, we're beautiful scarabs. beautifully confused scarabs.
(Brian - Mar 2, 2006 12:11:40 PM)
|
Come on, Julie--let the boys have their boob obsession. The mountains might be as close as most of them will ever get to seeing a real live teton up close and personal... :)
(Michelle - Mar 2, 2006 12:20:56 PM)
|
Very ture Michelle - however, if Lane got my Birthday "gift", he knows all too well.... And what's wrong with loving a shiny beer bottle?
(William - Mar 2, 2006 12:59:00 PM)
|
Just remember: subduction does lead to orogeny!
(William - Mar 2, 2006 01:14:00 PM)
|
you call that a beer bottle? i'll show you a beer bottle....
(Anonymous - Mar 2, 2006 01:24:57 PM)
|
instead of worrying about why guys are how they are, girls should concentrate on how they could use this knowledge in their daily lives. That is what i would do.
(Michael - Mar 2, 2006 04:55:30 PM)
|
I'm sorry....I must be missing something. I don't see any Grand Tetons in this picture.......... :)
(Jason - Mar 2, 2006 05:22:57 PM)
|
man, Michelles never going to want to be on POTW again. the major punchlines here have been "large bottom, no tetons."
(Brian - Mar 3, 2006 10:29:18 AM)
|
I don't think Michelle has ever REALLY wanted to be on it in the first place. :)
(Lane - Mar 3, 2006 12:47:34 PM)

Call my crazy, but isn't this just a cleverly disguised "and then somebody farted?"

Michelle, in the middle of the forest, having just heard a tree fall, contemplates: "If I hadn't been here, that falling tree wouldn't have made a sound." In one epiphanic moment, Michelle realizes that her existance has made a real difference in the world.

Hey! What happened to the goat crapping in the woods? I happened to like that one.
(Ryan - Mar 1, 2006 08:45:51 AM)

no kidding. it was my favorite, too--and the closest to what i was really thinking when the picture was taken.
(Michelle - Mar 1, 2006 10:41:37 AM)

Seriously, the goat crapping in the woods would have got a 9 or 10 from me. Boy whoever deleted probably feels dumb (unless they have the top caption)
